Today marks the first day of summer and the longest day of the year. Most of us will be taking vacations and spending as much time as we can enjoying the delights that summer has to offer, swimming pools, picnics, fresh fruits and produce, flowers and all the other things that mark this time of year.
While perusing some of my older magazines, specifically the June 2007 issue of Country Living, I came across a great photo spread showing the home of Theresa Smith that I thought really mixed some of my favorite elements well: shabby, baroque ornamentation and gilded items.
